Mountain hiking

Mountain hiking is one of my favourite forms of spending my free time (apart from e.g. burning bonfire, watching the sky or "improving" my computer). I like to go alone or in a small companion (usually with my sister). Usually I take a tent, sleeping bag, set of dishes (I always cook on fire - if it is not forbidden), some food, good gnife, sometimes a little spade and binoculars. I like to go quickly (my normal speed is 50% better than indicated on the trail-markers but I may go slower if I go with full equipment) and quite long distances (if I am alone I often do more than 30 km in a day). I prefer quite high mountains with forests and as few other tourists as possible.

My typical day in the mountains: I get up about 6:00, then I wash up, eat breakfast, boil water on a bonfire, make (and drink) a tea, pack up, pack my tent and I am ready about 8:30-9:30. I stop approximately every 2 hours and I stop about 18:30-19:30, look for the best place for setting my tent, cook dinner (usually: powdered soup + some barley flakes), wash dishes, make a tea and, finally, I go to sleep about 21:00-22:00. Recently (as I wandered in August and I had a long way to do) I was getting up at 5:00 and stopping about 18:00-19:00.

Usually I don't stop to admire sights - for me it is much more important to make effort. I don't like days when I am not very tired.
